Ma'am I have a doubt in chemical bonding.Actually there are 3 p orbitals such as px,py,pz.If px and px orbital overlaps will it forms sigma bond or pi bond.In the MTG they have explained when px and px overlaps it will form pi bond but according to my perception px and px overlaps shows coaxial overlapping. So it will form sigma bonds. When py and py it will overlap together in a lateral fashion to give pi bond.Could you please clear my doubt comprehensively?.I am not able to understand this particular concept.
