mam has told that benzaldehyde will have more tendency to undergo nucleophillic addition reaction than ethnal since carbon in benzene ring is sp2 hybradised and this will dominate over resonance .but in many books as well as answer of cbse sample paper they said benzaldehyde will be less active towards nucleophillic addition rxns over ethanal because of resonance. so which is correct?
